I'm so old I Remember when:

I remember the time I wanted to plan some Hibiscus in my garden. To know more about this plan I went to the library, searched through the cards to find where this book is on the shelf of the library, sat in the library to read a stack of books on this topic, took some home to read more.
Now, I just google it. :)

Faster, my bottom glued to the sit for hours, miss the opportunity of the trip to the library, talk to the librarian, stop at the coffee shop for a cuppa on the way back. Just me and my computer and no human contact.

Wish I could still find paper atlases and road maps!

Amazon sells them. I always make sure we have paper maps and road atlases for Arizona and the surrounding states.

Try finding a kid these days who can use a compass and read a topo map! There's an orienteering racing club near here that I've considered joining. I love that stuff.

I haven't checked in years but my vehicle insurance company used to give out free atlases to its customers if they asked for them.

Not sure about Missouri but in NC paper road maps can be ordered for free through NC State Highway Patrol. They allow you to request multiply copies. I get one for the house and each vehicle every few years. I like paper maps too! Check online with your state highway patrol.

Atlases probably would have to be purchased??

Here free Wyoming state road maps can be found at the rest areas on the major highways.

No idea what a Kimbo freckle is but I totally enjoyed Barnum and Bailey's circus. ❤️
I also very much enjoyed:
  • the Shriner circus
  • the Shriners in their mini cars in parades
  • the carnival that came to town each summer
  • the county fair
  • the state fair
  • parades for every major holiday
  • school field trips
  • Christmas forests
  • Halloween mazes
Let's face it, there was and in some cases still is, much better entertainment than can be found on any electronic device.
Kimbo was one of their clowns. He used a big marker (?) to put a big dot on your nose.

Most states still have paper maps in their "welcome" sites. I picked up one for each state I drove through 2 years ago.

Some of the larger rests stops across the states have paper maps too.

Thanks, guys! I will look into these. I always used to buy a road map at a gas station in each state I crossed into. Not any more! Even WM does not carry them any more that I could find.
