Being that I grew up in a very hilly area, the tennament of my youth was on a city street that was relatively level as it went around the hill but the one at the end of the block was so steep cars had difficulty ascending and descending in winter. One year a major appliance was purchased and the thick cardboard was so perfect my sister, brother, a couple of neighbor kids, and I immediately claimed it for riding down the icy road. Mom's only forbidding was if a car was on the street we had to wait. Being that we moved from there into a proper apartment in a 2 story house when I was in first grade, I couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 that winter. I'm beginning to wonder
