Remember when you were thirsty you got a ‘drink’, now you go and get ‘hydrated’. Doing the exact same thing just makes you feel like you’re smarter………..I suppose.

Absolutely…..and, all we knew at that time, silly us, was that we were thirsty. We apparently weren’t smart enough to know we needed hydration.

My mother grew up in the 40s. If she went out -- anywhere -- she wore stockings, gloves, a hat, a dress, and heels.

I saw a picture of my mother taking my two half sisters to the zoo. All three wearing hats, dresses, and at least Mom was wearing gloves. At 2 and 4 I'm not sure the girls would have been required to wear gloves, I didn’t notice.

They were sharp dressers back then for sure. The women always seemed to be in heals and the men in suits. Spiffy - or was the term dapper?

That's fascinating. My brain isn't creative enough to think 50 years into the future. I shudder to think how costly things will be then - for the grandkids' grandkids. Feeling really old having said that.
