I'm so old I Remember when:

Have you seen any of the documents?

I've been tracing my family tree for several years.
Some of the people back then really took pride in their handwriting. Some of the most beautiful script I've seen.
Some documents can be difficult to read due to poor writing skills, spelling, or faded by time.

It's a shame there are so many now who can not read cursive.

I homeschooled my grandson K-8. I started cursive with him in 3rd grade just like I did.
I haven’t logged on yet but I might do so after chores this evening.
I think it would be fun to contribute to translating something in the National Archive. Not really translation more transcribing.
If i understand right you can just dip in and look at a document and type what you can read. I suspect most are boring but it still feels like a worthy project and one only the likes of us can contribute to!

I remember when it used to cost just around $3 for many slices of cakes, now 1 slice of cake is $8.
Where is this? In a trendy bar with access to a swimming pool? Or with an amazing view over the ocean?

In my town: COLORS CAKES
Cake of the day € 4,00
Tropical bounty cake € 4,50

I agree, a very worthy project.

You never know what type documents they will be.
Some could be very interesting. Some of the wills I've come across doing my family tree listed relationships and things I never knew about.

Even if they were not related to me they would have still given me a chuckle.

Remember these. The phone needed a coin AND operating the dial for every number. Perfect device to put these young whippersnappers in their place.

Remember when you had a milk box by the door to the house and the milkman delivered your milk. Remember when the milk came in glass bottles with the crimped paper cap? We used to let some of the milk sit out during the winter so we could have ice milk.
YES, I remember it was so nice! I woke up open the door to bring the milk. They came in glass bottle, gold colour lid is heavy cream and silver colour lid is less cream. Those are the lovely quiet, and happy breakfast time. We sat down eat breakfast, my dad read the newspaper also delivered and me collected at the front door with the milk bottles. Breakfast was lovely time not run off the door with toast in hand like now. That is me running off to the bus stop with toast in hand.
