I'm so old I Remember when:

Where I live it costs about the same as gasoline for 100 km driving if you charge at a random public charging station.
Prices to charge differ. Fast charging is 2x standard charging price.

It is free @home after installing solar panels / installation.
The new e-cars are more expensive than petrol cars. But garage costs are absolutely fantastic. After 4,5 years we had an annual bill of about €100,- and just needed new tires, windshield wipers, and new air filters.

I do remember we had trouble to find a fast charging station on a trip to France 4 years ago. It took 24 hours to get at the destination instead of the normal 12 hours. But things have improved miraculously since. Nowadays it would take maybe 13 hours, no more. Bc there are superchargers about everywhere along the highways, and commercial centres.

How much to replace the battery?

Ok, but how much to replace it when it wears out?
Had to look it up. Bc I don’t think it will ever be worth it.
If the battery goes down to 75% we still can drive 300 km till the next stop. Good enough for normal use.
A new battery for our car costs probably € 7000 - 10.000,- according to google. Don’t know if thats true.

It's hard to see in that photo but the menu had pronunciation guides under the names of the foods: "free-HOLE-es" "burr-EE-toe" "TAH-ko." 🤣 🤣🤣
Yes, free-HOLE-es, not fry-joles. And, tore-TEE-yahs, not tore-till-uz. My little SIL, years ago, could not get the Ls out of tortillas, the best she could do was "tore-tee-lee-yas." She tried so hard. Lol.
