I'm so old I Remember when:

My son was watching a very cool video the other day about wombats and how they defend their burrows. It was very interesting but every other sentence had the f word in it. He had to shut it off, it was disgusting
I'm so old that I remember an editorial from way back in the 1970's I think of an editorial by the editor of one of the fishing magazines. Not sure which one but I read Sports Afield, Field and stream and a couple more that I've forgotten the names of. The editorial was suggesting that the guys clean up their language at the fishing camp stores and docks so men could bring their young (6-12) sons fishing. After the riot act was read about the language problem he cut loose on those that came to the docks dressed like street trash. They were told how men should be able to dress nice even if it was just a day on the lake. Clean jeans and a clean shirt wasn't to much to ask. Wish I had kept that issue.

But they had radios back then, no?
Yes but the only radio was in mom and dad's bedroom as that was also the alarm clock. No TV. We went downtown a few times and watch the new thing that have moving pictures to use in your house. TV's back then were a status symbol.

I love being about to say things about "the turn of the century."

But dang! One of my favorite albums, Carole King's "Tapestry," came out 54 (!!!) years ago!
Still have it on the original vinyl in its original worn-out sleeve. It's no longer played but cherished, just the same!
