I'm so old I Remember when:

Whoa did you just bring up a lot of memories! My mother loved Exposition Park. We spent a lot of time there when I was growing up. I took classes at the natural history museum every summer. My mom could spend hours strolling through the rose garden. We saw some of the 1984 summer Olympics at the Coliseum.
Which science museum was there at the time? I know there used to be a different one than the one that's there now.

Mine quarters are for the parking meter. I’ve gotten more than enough parking tickets in the past.

We get bottled water too, but it’s from Walmart and $6.50 per refill.
I'm not talking about bottled water. This is a company called White House Artesian Springs. Well, they do offer bottled water but we go to the vending house. A small building that is piped to their water supply and we fill our glass jugs from there. 25¢ a gallon this way

How beautiful! Are these your photos? When were you there?

I think it was the California Museum of Science and Industry which was renovated into the current California Science Center.

There was no internet back then and these kinds of places held much awe and mystery and fascination for school kids (and everyone else). We had a lot of school trips there, and the La Brea Tar Pits, Cabrillo Marine Museum, Griffith Park Observatory, Olvera Street, Leo Carrillo State Park tide pools, our incredible mountains and beaches... so many magical places for curious young minds to explore. Southern California was a wonderful place to grow up in the 60s/70s/80s.

I specifically turn off location on the photos/videos to prevent others from knowing where the photo was taken.
I recall when the young kiddos on the early interwebs would take pictures of their devil's lettuce plants, edit the Exif tags to have the local sheriff's latitude and longitude, and then drive over to his place, connect to his open wifi network and post the pictures using his IP address.

Good times, good times. Such a misspent youth.
