I'm so old I Remember when:

I found this photo too. I remember when gas wasn't this expensive.

Nearly $4.48 per gallon if I did the math right.

I remember... back when I could fall asleep easily... and then sleep the sleep of the young, the innocent, and the pain-free!!!

Yeah... now, if I could just relive those days... :lau

Nah... if I slept like that now... it would be because I was dead.

I am often feel fearful of evening time because I know that I will fall asleep quickly on the couch while watching tv, then I will be waking up so many times during the night, the pain wake me up. The early morning rise is not by choice, but old age.

Yes, I remember the time like you just fall asleep so easily..

My quarters are saved for Aldi carts and spring water. We have a spring water company about 25 mins away that sells it for 25¢ a gallon. Much better than our crappy tap water, which has been testing high in all sorts of nasty things. The town has given us a notice once a month saying that the levels aren't dangerous in the short term but in the long term, could cause cancers
That is horrible, what do they say to fix the water so that it is drinkable?

So many things that have this and that, but not to the dangerous level, really? As we eat, drink, inhale in oxygen, walk about..a bit of everything is going to add up to a dangerous level.

I feels hopeless think about these things....that bring to me cooking almost everything at home, filter my tap water and boil it before consuming it.

I bake bread at home and the ingredients are just plain flour, salt, water, yeast. The bread in the shop has a long long list of ingredients..I just wonder why do that do that for?

I remember when gas was less than a dollar but not the exact amount

My first car was a 79 Monte Carlo that I got in 1980 and gas was around a dollar a gallon

less or more depending on where you were at , at the self service tanks

And the gas was a good bit more at the full service tanks

Amoco ( my parents had an account with the one station that I used in mobile, Al
and the owner was a mechanic also )
Gulf and Standard when outside of mobile
I learned to drive on a '73 Monte Carlo. I had a love/hate relationship with her. Depending on her(or my) mood, she was either "The Lady" or "The Witch." And I remember being VERY upset when I finally got my license, because I could no longer get two gallons for a dollar!

I'm glad you like them.

One of my brothers was baptized there too. Last time we went I remember they changed the baptismal fountain. We went there a few times throughout the years.

We went to the Banning Museum once. It was close to the place we took our cars to get fixed, and so we stopped in after dropping one off (I think. We had lots of car issues at the time).

I also remember the horrible traffic going from there to LA county. Whenever we had to pick up a car or drop one off I went with Dad so he could use the carpool lane.

That is amazing. It really is a small world! 😊

Guessing,in part, because others felt you made them look bad? I was a outcast as well but for me it was legitimate……..I was just weird. Still am I suppose but too late to change now so I’ll just go with it.
I'm so old I remember when my weirdness used to bother me. Self acceptance has become a super power.
