I'm so old I Remember when:

Perhaps I’m crazy, a distinct possibility, but wasn’t pay cable television commercial free when it first came around?

All I remember is
when we got canle in 1978-79-80
we now had 12 channels to choose from instead of 2 or
3 depending on the weather

I remember TBS was now on channel 8 and my favorite channel

When we got the cable box with more stations the premium channels like showtime hbo movie channel they were commercial free

When it was hot, we used to sleep with the front and back doors propped open for cross-ventilation. We never worried someone would come in.
Many antebellum homes are actually designed around center halls for just that reason. We always left both doorways open for the cross-ventilation. We stopped the summer my horse discovered that he could follow my voice right down the front hall and join the conversation. Mom thought it was GREAT. Dad thought it was funny until Billy figured out how to open the fridge (who KNEW horses liked sweet tea and lemonade?) That was when we got a sturdy screen door out front. I can still see his big ol' blaze-face looking forlornly down the front hallway! 🥰

Waymaninit. Do they even still MAKE zip-up pants anymore?
They do, but people like me, with the general anatomical proportions of a snowman, don't wear them.
I remember 45-50 years ago I saw an old copy of a Sears catalog and you could mail order cocaine and needles
I saw one once, from which you could actually order a complete house!

I had to stop leaving the main coop door open when my horse decided it was great to hang out in the coop and would lift the lid off of the feeder and help himself to the chicken feed.

There was also the instance where he reached his head through the truck door window, opened my lunch pail and ate the plums that were in it.

fresh Gulf & mobile bay seafood is my favorite food

fried Flounder shrimp oysters crab claws and any other fish

I still eat captain D’s, Popeyes, etc etc etc but the best seafood restaurants are on the causeway and gulf shores

Hmmm now thinking about what y’all have said
Maybe I shouldn’t
Oh how I feel like a trip down to Lambert’s in Foley!
