Perhaps I’m crazy, a distinct possibility, but wasn’t pay cable television commercial free when it first came around?
Many antebellum homes are actually designed around center halls for just that reason. We always left both doorways open for the cross-ventilation. We stopped the summer my horse discovered that he could follow my voice right down the front hall and join the conversation. Mom thought it was GREAT. Dad thought it was funny until Billy figured out how to open the fridge (who KNEW horses liked sweet tea and lemonade?) That was when we got a sturdy screen door out front. I can still see his big ol' blaze-face looking forlornly down the front hallway! When it was hot, we used to sleep with the front and back doors propped open for cross-ventilation. We never worried someone would come in.
The Sear's catalog.
They do, but people like me, with the general anatomical proportions of a snowman, don't wear them.Waymaninit. Do they even still MAKE zip-up pants anymore?![]()
I saw one once, from which you could actually order a complete house!I remember 45-50 years ago I saw an old copy of a Sears catalog and you could mail order cocaine and needles
I remember when the pill bottles were clear glass and had a white rubbery plastic, snap on lid. I have one, somewhere.I remember when pharmacies dispensed meds in a little white paper bag and they put a lollipop in it if the meds were for a child.

I had to stop leaving the main coop door open when my horse decided it was great to hang out in the coop and would lift the lid off of the feeder and help himself to the chicken feed. Many antebellum homes are actually designed around center halls for just that reason.
