I am part of that generation. Yes, we KNEW, but there was too much money to be made, so we didn't do anything about it. Because of the money we could make. Kick the can down the road, we'll figure out how to deal with it when the time comes. The time is coming; indeed, has come in some ways. You forgot to mention this generation (at least the CEO’s who new) knew about pollution and did nothing to stop it. On the contrary they started lawsuits against people who tried to stop the pollution.
And i am not talking about one kind of pollution. There are many ways you can destroy a healthy environment.
I don't have any kids, or thus grandkids. I don't have to look them in the eye and say, "Yeah, we knew. We threw a great big party, invited some people, and the rest paid the price. Now you get to clean up the mess we made. Good luck. I'll be dead (I hope!) before it gets too bad. Sorry, kids."
