I'm so old I Remember when:

We did to telemarketers. I dearly hope they enjoyed the sound of the phone being slammed/gently placed back on the receiver thingy.

If you still have one of those phones, and you have some kind of telephone service, you can get it to work. I had to connect it to the internet phone thing box, but it did work and we made a phone call on it in the 21st century.

Hubby and I drove tractor-trailer, we would leave around 1am and be back home around 9pm. Our 4 darlings were all teenagers, so they could care for themselves until we returned. Also, my father lived in the "carriage house" if there was any problems. One time we had to lay over and didn't get back to late the next night. When we came home I noticed the kitchen floor had been washed and it was spotless. The dishwasher was blinking that it was halfway through the cycle, so I started it up. Then we found out why the floor was so clean. The kids used liquid dish soap instead of the dishwasher detergent!!! That weekend Hubby had to disconnect the dishwasher, bring it out side and hose all the dish soap out of the poor machine. There were suds everywhere!!!
Yup, happened at my house too. Only MIL advised the kids to do that. Suds all over the floor. I didn't know why the stupid thing leaked after that until her funeral when the kids shared that memory, and I couldn't cuss her for it. They blew out the seal on it. I ended up getting a new dishwasher. It was too expensive to fix. Yup, good times, lol.

My mother used dishwasher soap too sometimes. But she only added 1 or 2 drops, to prevent a foam burst. She never had any problems doing so.

Probably read it somewhere as a tip to save money, if the dishes weren’t very dirty.

I have a friend who uses baking soda snd a couple drops of Dawn dish soap in the soap cup. Seems to work great. Oh, and a spladh of vinegar in the bottom of the tub. Unlike the film the Cascade I use leaves on my glass tumblers, her glasses sparkle! I may switch...

Now I remember when my mother used a drop of dishwasher soap for hand washing. She had tableware with a gold edge that would faint in the dishwasher with the dishwasher tablets.

Layered necklaces and bracelets, hair bows, lace gloves, crop tops, bustiers and bike shorts. She spawned a whole lot of Madonna wannabies.

I don't think I ever owned a Madonna album, my mother would never have allowed it. Anyone else miss shopping for records? It was a great way to meet new people over shared interests.

How do you think I acquired over 700 albums?

I never shopped for records.

I do still buy physical media. The best place I've ever bought CDs was this small bookstore. They had two whole shelves of classical music. I also saw four boxes stacked with classical music and I dug through them. As we were about to leave I realized there was even more in several bins. Wish I could go back. The lady at the counter was super happy I was buying some of those CDs.
You can't really blame Madonna. However, I'm pretty sure Billy Ray was horrified with his daughters hit single "Wrecking Ball".
