We did to telemarketers. I dearly hope they enjoyed the sound of the phone being slammed/gently placed back on the receiver thingy.
Yup, happened at my house too. Only MIL advised the kids to do that. Suds all over the floor. I didn't know why the stupid thing leaked after that until her funeral when the kids shared that memory, and I couldn't cuss her for it. They blew out the seal on it. I ended up getting a new dishwasher. It was too expensive to fix. Yup, good times, lol.Hubby and I drove tractor-trailer, we would leave around 1am and be back home around 9pm. Our 4 darlings were all teenagers, so they could care for themselves until we returned. Also, my father lived in the "carriage house" if there was any problems. One time we had to lay over and didn't get back to late the next night. When we came home I noticed the kitchen floor had been washed and it was spotless. The dishwasher was blinking that it was halfway through the cycle, so I started it up. Then we found out why the floor was so clean. The kids used liquid dish soap instead of the dishwasher detergent!!! That weekend Hubby had to disconnect the dishwasher, bring it out side and hose all the dish soap out of the poor machine. There were suds everywhere!!!
My mother used dishwasher soap too sometimes. But she only added 1 or 2 drops, to prevent a foam burst. She never had any problems doing so.Yup, happened at my house too. I have a friend who uses baking soda snd a couple drops of Dawn dish soap in the soap cup. Seems to work great. Oh, and a spladh of vinegar in the bottom of the tub. Unlike the film the Cascade I use leaves on my glass tumblers, her glasses sparkle! I may switch...My mother used dishwasher soap too sometimes. Probably read it somewhere as a tip to save money, if the dishes weren’t very dirty.
Now I remember when my mother used a drop of dishwasher soap for hand washing. She had tableware with a gold edge that would faint in the dishwasher with the dishwasher tablets.I have a friend who uses baking soda snd a couple drops of Dawn dish soap in the soap cup.
