I'm so upset, I can't think straight...

The quote is from Winston Churchhill and it's one that holds true for so many. He was your best friend and I can't imagine the loss you are going through right now. I dread the day my daughter will experience this, I just don't know what pulls one through. All I can say is he's had a full life and has taken the memories of the two of you with him to the Rainbow Bridge.

My thoughts are with you.

I feel for you. I had a special horse when I was growing up. I could cry on his shoulder anytime, or just stretch out on his back while we were in the pasture and just talk to him. It hurts so bad to loose a freind like that. Unconditional love and acceptance. Out living our animal freinds sometimes makes me wonder why I have them around, it sure hurts when we have to let them go. I know I can't live without animals around me though.

Again, I feel so bad for you, but then again I feel joy that you've felt the amazing connection that happens between animals and humans.

I'm very sorry for your loss. You don't have to apologize for grieving the loss of a friend.

Amy, so sorry about your loss. I do know what and how you feel.

I had a colt, 1/2 Arabian 1/2 QH, born here. He was going to be my forever horse, but I only had him 8 months.

Now I have Gin, got her when she was 14 months, heart of my heart.

I'm so sorry about your loss. I lost a special one just three years ago... we also grew up together and he was always my pal. His name was Handsome but I called him Bud.

Do you have a picture of him to show us? I bet he was beautiful... Appys always are.

So so sorry for your loss. People just don't understand that losing a pet is like losing a best friend.

Sorry you are going through a rough time. My friend just lost her horse of over 25 years, just like you. She said in a way, she was glad she didn't have to make the decision to put him down, that that would have been too much. Hopefully that was also the case for you.

This is such a great, understanding place here. You have lots of support.

I know how sad that feeling it...my childhood buddy died at the age 24. It is a strong bond and one that causes you to grieve. Be thankful he went as he did...being sick or down is much worse.

I'd love to see pictures of your special horse as well!! I am so terribly sorry that you lost him. You're right- 30 is a proud age for a horse. I'm sure he knew that he was loved very much.
Rainbow Bridge makes me bawl everytime. That will be the only thing getting me through my dog dying, when the time comes. He's sleeping right next to me as I type- he is the sun in my world. My very best friend. He's only two 1/2 right now so hopefully we'll have many more happy years to come. Oh, he will also be our ring bearer when we get married in October!

Sorry, enough about my dog. Try to remember the fun times you guys had and take comfort in the fact that he knew how loved he was. Many horses aren't nearly as fortunate.
Sending many hugs from NC!
