I'm (sort of) a black cochin - maybe?

I bought a bunch of "bantam cochins". Two look like normal black cochins at this age. One has gold coming in.

Any idea what cross this might be? He/She/It has the beautiful green/blue sheen on the body feathers and the feathers on the head are gold. I thought at first they were gold at the edges with black in the center but as they grow more it's clear that the gold feathers are...well, gold.

Gender guesses?

These are at least eight weeks old, and probably closer to nine weeks.

go to welphatchery.com and look under Poultry Catalog--Bantams--Feather Legged. There are a few that are very dark if not black that have gold in their feathers. Brown-Red d'Uccle and Golden Laced Cochin in particular.

i'd say it is a cochin roo. looks sort of like my Sunny when he was starting to show his roo colors. the color may be birchen, i was told since my boy had white on his wings that he would be considered duckwing (i don't think that is a color though)

It looks like a mix/low quality cochin for sure, but as for colors I'd say it's a very poor quality male brassyback cross color. They get a tinted gold/silver in their hackles, wing bows and saddle feathers. If it were a birchen it would have lacing down its chest already, and the hackles would be a light silver color. (can't quite see the front of the chest, but it doesn't look like there's any lacing) Brassybacks are often mistaken for birchen, but when you look at the two the differences are obvious.

Here a pic of a brassyback roo from feathersite:

And here's a pic of a birchen roo from feathersite as well:
