I'm Stumped...Appreciate your input

This morning (7am) heard the crow so ran out to peek in the chicken house window. Everyone was sitting on the perches except Smokey (Orpington). She was standing on the ledge above the perches trying to peek out the window, is she the "Crowing Pullet"? Sent pictures to the breeder I got them from, she says all Pullets but will take any back. Hubby's talking about setting up a camera...

At this point we'll just wait and see....The crowing isn't constant (couple of times), not very loud & once I let them out, no noise. Maybe Smokey's the one "complaining" to be let out? Anyways, thanks to all

Don't blame Smokey too quickly...same thing would happen to me when I ran to see who was crowing...a pullet would be down wanting out and everyone else perched on the roost...they crow nicely while perched. It took me awhile to see my barred roo in action and my banty roo to alternate.
My bet is on Ruby.

Lady of McCamley - Thanks for giving me HOPE. Hubby's looking into a camera to install in the chicken house.

Seems everyone is in agreement it's Ruby & Crystal, although breeder keeps say not so. The crowing is at a reasonable hour (6:30 - 7am, no alarm clock needed, ha ha) and it's not very loud nor constant....So we've decided to wait, hope & see. Thanks for ALL YOUR INPUT, helps me to preplan what to do WHEN I discover who it is & I'll let you all know....

Good luck.

Hopefully you can determine soon and it is not your Smokey.

Same scenario with mine...2 slower developing roos and one early developing pullet kept me guessing so much that even after rehoming the roos I kept antcipating my prettiest pullet would now begin to alert me the mornings to her hidden identity...thankfully all crowing left with the barred and banty boys and she is now properly cackling like the good hen that she is.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

My "pullet" was 6 months before we discovered "she" was a Roo! In a week, she had gone from this:

Handsome Rooster! It was quiet this morning, decided to wait it out since the breeder said she'd take any of the birds back at any time. I've been working with her for a few months, raising her incubated chicks until they're about 6 - 8 wks, she likes how "tame" they become. Easier handling for her.
