All I meant from my post is that I don’t want them to overcommit, owning two horses is a expensive thing. But yes if they can afford to feed two then they should get a companion. I for one cannot afford to feed two so Hudson spends his time with the mini over the back fence.PLEASE don't keep your horse all by itself! I know some other people have kept horses that way and considered it OK, but horses are herd animals and the vast majority need companions to remain calm and happy. There are plenty of people who want to give away their elderly horse or pony to a forever pasture home, many others who want to sell a couple goat wethers to a pasture home. Please give your horse some company! It's really important to their comfort and happiness.
YeahSure, that works, too. As long as they can see and "talk" to other horses it's fine. A goat companion is an alternative if there are no other horses around and they can't afford two.
