I'm totally bummed, my eggs came all broken

I have received packages with postage due. That happens when your local post office discovers the weight with incorrect postage.
Hopefully the seller is reimbursing you.

Sounds like they are trying to do right by sending more.
It's all in the packing.
Best of luck with newbies.

That isn't a good way to pack eggs. My eggs were individually wrapped in bubble wrap and put in a carton of styrofoam peanuts. They came, and none were cracked. It jsut goes to shwo whenever you buy eggs online, you take a risk.

It doesn't matter how much packaging you put on the outside of the carton if the eggs can move around inside it.

See if they package them better this time or I'd complain and direct them to some of the packaging threads and sites online.

I have received eggs shipped in the egg cartons but they always wrap them in tissue or bubble wrap before placing them into the cartons. Then peanuts in the box around the carton. The most I have ever lost was one.

What type of eggs were they?

Thanks,
I know... I asked them to wrap each egg this time, and described how they broke from crashing into one another...
he says he shipped a lot of eggs before and never had breakage....

They are Welsummer eggs.....

and they are in the bator, which is holding at more like 98 today, and 50% humidity....

It was right 'on' at 99.5 for days before adding eggs, so I am guessing the cool eggs caused the dip...
I also yesterday figured out that with our low low humidity I have to put in a sponge to keep that humidity up... the wells aren't enough...

we shall see....

So far this year I've had 44 eggs shipped to me.

Not one cracked. Not one broken.... but 8 or 9 of them were scrambled inside.

I am learning a bunch about how and not ship & receive hatching eggs.

AL

I'm still going to stay positive... you never know, right? they might not be scrambled...
I will give them a week, and candle them... and see what I got.
by then, I should have some more coming...
hopefully in better shape.

and, if that doesn't work... maybe I'll go stop by my chicken man friend's house!!! LOL! lost his number but know where he lives!
:-)

PS: can you tell if they are scrambled right away or do I need to wait a week and look for veins?
I'm a big time newbie at this!!!
