You are bad! LOL of course in our bator I have 1 duck egg (we rescued from nest after broodys left the nest) and 4 chicken eggs that people gave us from their chickens that laid eggs at our county fair!

My husband asked me last night if I had made an impulse buy. After some thought, I do believe I did. I don't even know anything about this hatchery or what quality of ducks they have. I didn't even research it. I had been looking for a show quality or near show quality juvenile female or two. I'm thinking that I should cancel my order. It is pretty late in the season for me to take care of three day olds and they aren't hatching for another 2 weeks.

Does anyone know about this hatchery?

well rainplace if you want really nice ducks your best bet is a breeder. if your having a hard time finding them you could always check out the ones at the fair that is comming up and get some really good ideas

oh and which 1 of your ducks is lame?

Crackers (my olderst f/w runner that was here when you came to get the swedish) hurt herself or suffered from Niacin deficiency a while ago. She's slowly recovering. She's now able to use the lame leg but the good leg has turned inward a bit. I think that was caused by trying to walk and keep up with the others when she couldn't use her other leg. She gets around just fine now albeit with a limp that makes my kitties drool.

oh wait... there's a fair? When? Where? I was also thinking about heading down to the auction outside of Centralia in a few weeks... you know, to just "look."

I like your advice. If I can't wait for my Holderreads order I should get ducks from a breeder.
