Impacted crop... and maybe much more.

Thank you so much for the update. Your detailed account and photos are a captivating!

I'm sorry that she still not making a lot of progress after expelling the lash egg(s).
For the crop, it she might have an impact further down somewhere or there may be swelling inside from the Salpingitis. I understand it's a worry since it's not emptying.
You can try giving her 1 stimulant free stool softener (Docusate Sodium) if you have that available. See if that will help break down what's in crop. Massage like you have been doing.

Hopefully others will chime in with their thoughts as well.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement. I do not think she lasts long. I think that although we are feeding her, she is being consumed little by little. She weighs very little (skin and bones) and she does not have the strength to stand up. To my great regret, I think it's a matter of hours. :(

Yes, that was a stellar account! It was fascinating to read, although sad. And the update really fills out this thread so others may learn from this.

It's good that you've reconciled to this hen not recovering. Those lash eggs are symptomatic of a lot of serious issues and the crop and perhaps gizzard impaction go along with a serious reproductive issue. Her abdominal cavity may have many more lash eggs stacked up. It's a common problem, sad to say. I had to euthanize a favorite hen last year because of it.

I would definitely try the stool softener and maybe a little coconut oil to try to get the crop and gizzard cleared.
