Impacted crop! HELP!

If you have Safeguard or Panacur, liquid or paste, the dose I would use on a five pound bird is 1.15 ml for five days. Give it ASAP, then give it again if the fluid in her crop has mostly cleared.

What does her poop look like?

I'm not sure what her poop looks like, but about a week ago it looked normal to me. I just wormed her.

I wormed her last night- about 24 hours ago. Her crop is not unimpacted though. Should I what longer to see if it helps.i also saw her pop today it doesn't look normal. Its like a very small liquid brown popop.I fed my hens some crumble food today and speedo did eat some. She seemed pretty hungry too. When should I give her the mixture of crop unimpaction stuff?

There are a ton of youtube videos on how to massage and empty them. Some are really rough, and some arent so bad. My rooster had that from mowing a huge mound of fresh grass. I did feed him only yogurt and scrambled eggs. I checked every morning until his crop was emptied out. . then he got regular food. I didnt even know there was such a body part before that!!

Worm her again. If poop is still getting through, so will the meds. Worm her daily for the next couple of days. Then repeat this at day 10 as well.

You can also give her the impaction/sour crop meds too. Throw everything you can at this to get her crop and intestinal tract moving at a normal rate.

Her crop seems little more emptied but Im not sure ...? I haven't seen her poop and Im not sure if she had because her butt feathers are very clean unlike some of my hens. Should I still worm her and give her give her the Crop med?

Yes, get her wormed ASAP. Many times crops are slow due to worm impactions in the intestines. If you wait too long to worm, these worms are going to completely stop her crop, her intestines can strangulate and she will die. Worms are serious business and need quick attention. Worm her daily for 4 to 5 days straight. Then repeat the treatment 7 to 10 days later.

If after day 3 on the worming the crop is still not emptying, you will nee to proceed with sour crop treatments.

Keep us posted! :)

Thanks! I wormed her again today. She really hates it and still is pretty strong when she try's to get away when I worm her with the syring.

Yes, they sure don't like the syringe. I am worming my birds this week and they all run when they see me shaking the bottle and the syringe comes out. LOL

Keep up the great work and let us know how she does this week!
