Impacted crop, hen can't breath!

I wouldn't worry about keeping her neck in place.... She's trying to make herself more comfortable so let her have that. Yes, you need to isolate her. I have used our pet carrier to bring them into my bathroom (not fun) but now I use my brooder. It stays in the shed, part of which has been converted into my large coop. Its not IN the coop, but it's in the same shed. Keep water available to her at all times. I keep it a bit dark there as well to help them stay calm and quiet.

I've only had two hens that have had crop problems. I thought both of them would not make it but they're both fine today. Each of us, as owners has a responsibility to these birds to do what we can to help them. Up to and including humane euthanasia. If at some point, you feel like there is no hope and that her suffering is too great, I very much hope you will do the right thing. If you can't do it yourself, please take her to the vet.

Have you seen what her poop looks like?

EDITTED TO ADD: none of my birds had any respiratory distress with their crop problems so you may have two separate problems here....

Her poop is water... diareah.
Okay, I will bring her in our bathtub. I'll put down some newspapers and water also. Anything to help a animal in need. Like my user, animals come first!
Thanks for all your advice, btw!

You might put some towels or a blanket under the newspaper so she stays warm. Our tubs always stay so cold here! The watery poo is indicative that nothing is getting through her digestive system. Keep up the massage as often as you can stand it

. You don't have to give her oil and water every time you massage. You will know by massage if she needs more to make it looser, especially if it is pasty feed in there.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that her crop is smaller or empty by morning. If it is, you should also see some improvement in her stools as well. Hopefully, any improvement in the crop will aid in the respiratory distress, but you might do a search as to what antibiotic is best for respiratory problems and get her started on that as well.

I hope that you'll keep us posted as to how she is doing. Good luck with it and no thanks necessary. It's always so stressful when they're not doing well.

Well.. i actually put her in our coop. I covered the shavings with newspaper. I gave her some clean water with a little olive oil in it. She hasn't pooped in a while. The crop is the same size, unfornunately.

EDIT: When can I start to feed her applesauce, or yogurt mushed with chicken food? I feel like if i keep giving her all water and oils, she is gonna get smaller and smaller with her weight. And I usually have a hard time keeping her on average weight size because she is so old; she is very light weight.

EDIT: Hazel passed away on October 23rd, I found her in the coop being snuggled by my 2 other chickens. Incase anyone wanted to know, I disected her throat before I buried her and found what blocked her airway: shavings, food and pebbles. There was also I believe a infection on her throat, it was a big black lump under all the blockage.
