Impacted crop .....

I found that garlic helped my hen along with the massaging the crop etc & she's been fine ever since (touch wood) - let us know how you get on - good luck

So last night I gave her scrambled eggs with garlic and olive oil and added some cottage cheese along with her monistat "pill" and it was completely empty this morning!!!I'm so excited! Thanks for all the help everyone!

Baby has started eating layer feed and grit today and I took off the crop bra. I noticed this evening that her crop felt squishy so I picked her up to massage her and she threw up on me. I'm hoping this is no big deal. Unfortunately that is what happened at the beginning of all this.

If you dislodged the blockage just make sure she gets the feed without others hoarding it. I give my Penny, and my other girls, sardines in olive oil often. It helps their crop and is wonderful protein for them. To put weight on Penny I made sure she got good treats and plenty of feed. She put it all back on and is doing wonderful. Be sure you don't offer bales of hay or grass because it seems you have some hens who are susceptible to impacted crops. My vet said that some hens seem to have more difficulty with impacted crops.

No go on the vet guess he relocated. I've been keeping her inside still to monitor her until I feel like she's emptying it ok. Our run is huge and grass covered so I'm nervous to let her go back out. Today she was a little squishy but not bad. Still hopeful this is progress

I just wanted to give a quick thank you and update to everyone. Baby has been in the run and coop for about a week now...gaining weight and looking good!!! She has been a little squishy a few times but after a quick massage and bed she is empty by morning. Thank you everyone!!!!!!!
