Impacted Gizzard or Heart Failure?

Update: I brought her home from the vet with an intention to give her peace at home. But never mustered up the guts to do it. She was really sick. Her comb turned blue. The other chickens began picking on her so I brought her inside and gave her food and water. She stopped eating and had lots of clear droppings and dark green liquidy droppings. 3 days went by and she didn't really move. And then the miracle happened. She ate some food. She perked up. She ate a little more and began "chatting". I let her out to be with the flock. And now it's like she's never been sick. I gave her some Chinese medicine herbs in her oatmeal for a day when she was inside. Then she had a big poop full of what looked like pure grass when she had been isolated for 4 days inside. And now.... she seems normal. She still has some abdominal swelling- but she's getting around and acting "fine". So weird. Especially because she looked like she was dying. It's a chicken miracle.

Oh WOW! That is wonderful news! Many congratulations. So often updates are sad, particularly when a bird is so sick. What a pleasant surprise to read that this girl pulled through. I hope her recovery is long lived. Thank you for making my day a little happier.

Best wishes

Barbara
