I have a hen that I got about two months ago and she has been so sick! First I noticed bubbles in her right eye and nose and then she ended up with an impacted crop. It's taken weeks of googling, advice from this site, and trial and error but yesterday I went out and her crop was finally empty however her right eye is now swollen shut and a little fluid is coming from her right nostril. Now her crop is full of air. If I gently squeeze it the air comes out but she isn't doing much but roosting and by some miracle, still laying eggs. I have Tylan 50, which is how I treated her when I first got her. Anyone have any experience with this? She is my favorite hen and I'm just heart broken.

Sometimes all they need is a chance to rest. We had an EE that was acting sick and had a really runny nose, so we put her in solitary for one night and she had improved significantly by the next day. Solitary is just the first step to a complete recovery though. You could start by adding some antibiotics or probiotics to her water. Antibiotics kill all bacteria in the gut, but probiotics add good bacteria, which helps build the immune system to fight off infection.

As to the sour crop, I'm not sure. Do you think that her crop issues are related to her snot dealio? Try adding some apple cider vinegar to her water. You could just do that onstead of pro/antibiotics. It's the most awesome health thing EVA!

Hope this helps!
