Sure would be nice if the OP could take some close up pics of the wound site... entrance and exit, so we can see clearly where the injury occurred. It appeared to me it was through a wing near the shoulder joint. Hydrogen peroxide is a great thing to use initially to decontaminate but it is not selective and can kill healing flesh along with the bad stuff so only really useful initially.

Chickens can be very hardy creatures and I've read stories of some surviving much worse than this. Don't give up on her! She might just surprise you and earn that new name! Hope you'll keep us updated.

I am away and my wife and daughter are on medic duty. ..I hope she continues to progress. She is eating and drinking We added a friend to her new temp home and they are getting along well. Thought it might raise her spirits. We are putting some amox in her food to help against infection.

Exciting update....sorry took so long. "Miracle" is doing just fine. We matched her up with a friend and separated her from the flock for a while. She has been in the coup with all the others for weeks now and is doing great! Resilient little bugger
