IMPATIENT for my chicks to arrive! Anyone else?

I know how hard the wait is!! This is my third year ordering babies, and mine arn't shipping till May 23rd.

I am having foot surgery and planned for a late May delivery date, but the wait is KILLING me! Hopefully this brutal cold will be gone by then!

My goodness, it's almost as bad as the wait when you think you might be pregnant!

I've heard a rumor that coop construction phase I officially begins TOMORROW with a warm, sunny day in the forecast. I sure hope it's true! I need SOMETHING to feel like I'm making progress toward that 4/23 hatch date. I found myself admiring the kids' artwork on a cardboard box today (they drew a bunch of growing flowers) and thinking how cute that would be painted on the inside of the chicken coop... and I realized that I'm in nesting mode! Chickitis is an illness, I'm sure of it.

Debid- I have a full blown case of chickititis!!Couldn't quite figure out what was wrong with me- the nesting, the impatience, spending obnoxious amounts of $ on books, obsessing over coops and runs, having anxiety attacks over the number of predators in my area, spending hour upon hour on BYC,

But you have named my disease! Can't wait to see all the pics of everyone's new arrivals. Patience is a virtue *sigh*

One day closer to the chicks arrival!

Mine are scheduled to ship on March 9th (about a bazillion years from now, it seems). Meanwhile, I have some bantie eggs here and some Marans eggs SOMEWHERE in north Texas - the post office misdelivered them - to keep the bator going and MAYBE mediate some of the chickitis symptoms that arise from chickaholism.

I can't wait either, mine are coming in just a few days though

. And we still haven't built the coop yet, on the to do list today

. We've got 10 coming and just can't wait, kids are so excited. Here's what we picked out! (all pullets)
1 Salmon Faverolles
1 Buff Orpington
1 Barred Plymouth Rock
1 Black Australorp
2 Easter Eggers
1 Naked Neck
1 Norweigan Jaerhon
1 Exchequer Leghorn
1 Golden Campine

What a relief! Glad to know I'm not the only impatient one. My first flock arrives 3/22 and I can hardly stand the wait. All I think/talk about is chicks. Since up until now, dogs have been my only "livestock" my family thinks I'm crazy to try chickens--but I won't be dissuaded! My builder husband has plans for an awesome moveable hen house for the six layers I've ordered. The rest will be meat chickens.

I am so jealous! I want a Salmon Faverolles, but I can't afford to have them shipped! Maybe I'll find someone close to me that raises them for next year, lol. I think I figured out that I can legally have up to 2 more chickens than I planned for...

Thankfully Feb is the short month! Only 31 days until my girls arrive!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who decided to do a variety of chickens. My inlaws thought it was silly for me to do that but I like variety

My kids are excited too. I'm not sure who is excited more me or them lol
