Impatiently waiting...

So not much of an update today other that I had to pull 2 of the eggs that mama had pushed out of the nest. I already new what was up when I saw them because the eggs were discolored. I didn't even bother cracking them open to take a look. The smell told me everything i needed to know. So now the egg watch continues...

Still nothing this morning other than another culled egg. I could smell it as soon as I kneaded down to check. I'm not sure if it's the only bad one (I'm sure it's not), but I could only reach 2 of them. The egg had a very bad seperated air cell. But on a positive note...the other egg I checked had internally pipped and I could see its little bill opening and closing. I'm gonna try my best to leave them be for the next few days. I've been trying my best to keep bad eggs from exploding and culling the bad ones to reduce the overall number of eggs in hopes that they hatch. I'm a little worried that I have other rotten ones farther back that I can't reach. Their coloring doesn't look normal. I'm just hoping the good ones hurry up and hatch before the ticking time bombs go off.

Ok so I went out earlier this afternoon to check on the eggs since mama hadn't been out all day. I noticed she was sitting on a crushed egg. I managed to very carefully remove the egg to check and see if the duckling was still alive. I was completely in shock because it looked to be just fine. I didn't want to assist in fear of it being too soon, but was afraid of it getting shrink wrapped. So I carefully placed it back and hoped for the best. I just went out to check again and mama was standing beside the nest with the shell in her mouth so I feared the worst. But then I heard the slightest little peep. I blindly held my phone underneath the shop and captured this pic :ya
