Important News Story About Dog Attacking Raccoon

? He said his garage was in dissaray. For all he knew there could have been a burgler around. I don't know about you by half the reason I have a dog is for a first line of defense against home invasion. I really hope this one gets laughed out of court.

IMO it appears that the dog owner wasn't sure what was going on in the garage and let the dog in first. Sad thing is that the grand jury might let it go to trial, sillier things have gone to trial. I haven't seen the video (don't really want to) but the law seems clear. If the animal is destroying your property, you have the right to dispose of it. I hope if it does go to trial, he is found innocent. It's not like he was going out in the woods and killing anything in site.

To get convicted takes 12 people agreeing..... No way they can find 12 people that all agree with the prosecutor on this one. Think it only takes a majority of a grand jury to send it to trial... They may get that but I doubt it.

I live in this county, and yeah it is absolutely ridiculous, they are also passing BSL legislation <breed specific laws> .
I want to move out of this county but sadly no one will buy a house here because of stupidity like this .
I have no idea how we elected this moron .

he said it was same as dog fighting ??????? If the dog had done it on its own , they said it would be ok. The DNR said in that State .Dogs can't be use to kill wild game only to track them.

Not that its right, but he could be found guilty. Because he sent the dog into kill the coon, and watched the killing.

So the way I understand the laws in their state, it was illegal. They can trap ,and kill the pest, just can't sent a dog into to kill animals. Even can use dogs to protect yours, they look at it like a blood sport , like dog fighting, just with one dog and a coon.
