Is she laying down for the drake or is he forcing her? If she is flattening herself out then she is ready.
How many drakes vs how many ducks?she seemed fine with it but the drakes were fighting each other
I've got 6 girls to 1 drake and apparenlty that isn't enough so be very watchful!Very normal for drakes to fight, just know if you just have the one female and more than one drake she can be seriously injured or killed because they will gang up on her. Best ratio is 3-4 ducks per drake even more than that if possible.

I would definitely try to re-home some drakes then. I had a one-to-one ratio, and once my drake figured out mating, he got very overbearing on my hen. Ducks are extremely rough when it comes to mating.
Personally, I wouldn’t take the chance. If there is a season where the wild mallards stop coming for some reason they will all turn to your girl. If they do that, it can seriously injure or kill your hen. In my case, I think my hen was egg bound and before I knew my drake took advantage of her being limp and over-mated her, making the situation worse and she passed away.they are in a pond and wild females fly in but mine are to heavy to fly out (my drakes attack drakes that come into the pond) would it be ok since they can also mate the wild mallards?
