I've had these chickens for a year now, so they should all be laying right?? I have seen some in the lay boxes but others I have not. I know egg production varies, I usually get 7 eggs most days, the most I have ever gotten is 9. I have 11 chickens. I will post pictures of the ones I haven't seen in the laying boxes. Am I crazy? Please help, Do I have an imposter?? Thanks for helping!

All these are females. Not every female will lay daily. Females will also stop laying for some time after each laying cycle

They are all females. Some take longer to lay. And if they were laying they may take long breaks

Do I have an imposter??
I don't see one. But roosters have been seen in lay boxes. Not that I suspect that.. but just for informational purposes.

Those are mostly dual purpose birds and production is not expected to be 100%. Also it's heavily impacted by daylight hours (unless under artificial conditions).

Also I've had some sporadic layers. 1 gal that went off lay for more than a season, started crowing, and even returned to lay eventually. Those EE can be more sporadic layers too in my experience.

Some folks use food dye (or lip stick) up the vent to identify layers as it smears onto the eggs during passage.

Also, there is some sort of vent check that can be done to verify who may be actively laying verses not, seen in following link..
