Impulse buy

Get a bag of Game bird Starter (28-30% protein), it won't finish off the bag during the next 3 months but you can use remainder to augment regular ration later on. In the meantime, grab up moths/grasshoppers and feed it by hand. Make sure it is eating and drinking and not around full sized chooks for at least a month (can be injured - usually leg issues).

Our Slates have been pretty easy going turks. They can be pretty insufferable pests if they imprint on you and consider the least of your outdoor chores as requiring their constant curiosity/scrutiny.

This is a very good thread with more detailed info/links: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/787208/turkeys-101-new-to-turkeys-what-do-i-need-to-know

Yes you can it works on Chicks like miracle grow and they love it and it will not hurt the Chickens ether the Higher Protein needed for the Poults is required.

When I have a mix batch of Chicks and Poults I always use wild game bird starter with the higher protein level and keep them for a long time in the same pen and coop feeding them all the same.
