In case you every wondered...what a difference my robot has made!!!

Wahoo!! You are on your way!

I set up chairs turned on their side etc... when I want it to clean a certain area. You can also use debris as blocks. I have a church pew in my front door area and I have a few boxes under it. I make a line with those, you can spread them about 10 inches apart, and that makes it focus on that area plus clean under the pew.

It is wierd, you may find yourself throwing out things or rehoming them to make it "easier" for DD (maybe it should be DDD- dear dirt dog).

You are on your trial period so if you decide to send it back and get an upgraded model you will be OK. The customer service is AWESOME and if you explain about the long hair on your golden retriever they may even give you a discount on an upgraded one that vaccuums.

happy sweeping!!

Does it know NOT to go down stairs?
My upstairs bedroom has finches and they kick the seed hulls EVERYWHERE. I wanna rhumba too!

EDIT:

I broke down and bought the 560. It looked to be the best model. I got the refurbished one and saved a bit o money.

I've wanted one for a long time but you guys pushed me over the edge!
(especially the info about the refurbished money saver!)

I'm using the $200.00 I got for a night time security gig I did last week. So my robot cost me $49.99 and a few hours lost sleep.

My DH is opposed to getting one of these. He's certain it can't do as good a job as the vacuum and that it's not worth it for dust bunnies.
Also, our living & dining area are all joined and we can't really block the stairway to the basement without upsetting the cats (their litterbox is in the basement).

How do I counter these arguments, or is he <gasp> right?

I'm so glad it works for you. I bought one several years ago and my DD"s prediction came true--it broke on me. (They always said that if I got ANY robot, I'd work it to death!!)

I'm hoping that in the future someone will manufacture a super-dooper bionic-man-type robot that you can't break, EVEN if you have it clean up after your animals!!

Yes it has "cliff" sensors on the bottom so it knows not to go over the edge. Though mine has probably thought about commiting suicide because I work it to death.

Save your money and buy it... it's worth it

I was going to get it for him for Christmas, but was 'feeling' out his objections in advance. He does all the vacuuming around the house

I do wonder if the cats will flee from the robot or torment it...

Yes to all. My 560 has a little sweeper arm that reaches under everything. It is short enough to go under my end tables and it cruises under my cabinets along the kick board.

If you have long pet you will need to clean the brushes more often. I clean mine about every 2 weeks. My is sceduled to run every other day.
