A damaged ovary can cause a hen to grow a big comb and wattles and look like a rooster.It definitely looks like a rooster.

I have been noticing that one of my buffs has been trying to mount other hens but I figured it was a pecking order/dominance thing. I’m not even sure which buff has been doing it. It’s one of two out of the four. One of my buffs is low on the pecking order and stays to herself. She’s my buff that’s raised two clutches. My other buff that I don’t suspect is my cross beak. I’ll be more observant and looks for signs of physical change.

I love it when hens show roosters that they aren't the only ones that can crow. I've had several hens over the years that crowed, mostly sounding like this one. However, one hen stood out above all others and had a nearly perfect crow and perfect form while doing it. All laid eggs regularly.

And, yes, I've always kept roosters so these crowing hens aren't necessary filling some void.

My sebrights were awful with crowing. Crowed more than the boys did for a while
