but my first cochin babies I am soo excited! i have 5 rirx, and 8 silkies going on lockdown in 2 days woohoo!
then a dozen guineas in another week, and we finally got our freezerbator going and I have 64(OMG) in there to hatch in 18 days.
This is addicting!!
i cant wait to see the peacock babies! please post pics!!
are you selling any eggs? (lol my hubby will kill me)

I'm so disappointed. Not even a pip yet..but then again, I didn't realize I had started lockdown a day earlier. I've seen that some folks start lockdown on day 18, but I usually wait..so, hopefully..I will see something tonight, or early tomorrow..they are due to hatch tomorrow. The only thing I worry about is how the air sacs were looking. Lively chicks, but in an egg with air sacs that went up and down each side? Only a couple out of the 7 that I have right now are like that. They are still wriggling though. So, hoping for a couple at least..and am hoping for girls! Come on baby girls.

I have some barnyard eggs going into lock down on Sun. Then, 5 days later, some Welsummer and Welsummer banty. I've never had a banty. Has anyone here ever had a Welsummer banty?

I have four new babies...Faverolles. I wanted girls..I do believe they are all girls..there was one that looked to be a roo..but didn't make it. So, 4 out of the 7 that I was hoping to work out. The three that didn't make it had visible physical problems.

I would post pictures, but have tried and tried on here. I can post pictures anywhere else, the same way, but for some reason won't work on here.

I've even downsized further than they suggested.

Looking forward to some fluffy pics! My little girls are little. They are a small chicken.
So fluffy in the face already, and on the legs..they have the five toes, and the bit of feathering on the outside of the legs. Cute!

Now for my second hatch this month...then "only" two more to go..finished up for July.
Anyone else going into lock down this weekend? I am hatching out a few barn yard surprises next. Sunday is Lock down. My four little Faverolles will have company. These baby Faverolles are a lot more shy than most of the chicks I've had. I'm working on that though. Lots of visits.

So my little black D'uccle baby isnt using one of his feet. always limped on it since he was hatched and he wont open his toes, now he just hops around on one foot.. hes eating and drinking but wont use his right foot.. dont know whats wrong with it :-(
The other two are eating a lot and drinking.. healthy little buggers! ill get pics up as soon as their feathers start showing their colors
