In need of a coop fast

I have 5 chickens, and I am in Arizona. I am in need of a chicken coop. If anyone knows of a relatively cheap chicken coop online, or in a store that can fit 5 chickens, and is waterproof (preferably under $300) please let me know. The coop I have is way too small, and is completely horrible. I have a separate run, so all i need is a different coop. Thanks.

For 5 standard size chickens, I don’t think you will find anything acceptable in that price range. You may be better off building something yourself although that takes time.

I’d try Craigslist or Facebook marketplace and see if you can find a used shed that you can cut some big windows in and cover them with hardware cloth.

Another thought - depending on the size of your run you could just put all the money into predator proofing the existing run, and put up some wood to climate protect a corner where roosts and nests can go. In AZ you shouldn't need a fully enclosed coop.

For our temp coop, it's a parrot aviary w/pen attached, and inside is a hutch, like a doghouse but a little bigger, with a roost inside. 5 chickens could easily sit on that perch and be protected from the elements.

I think we both have great ideas for cheap options that would work!

I have a PVC hoop house. You can find directions on YouTube.com for making one. You could probably buy what you need and make it in one day.
