In need of some quick advice for keeping chickens cool

I dumped about my whole ice bucket from the freezer into the water container and put electrolytes in it. I closed up their hen house too, so they can't go into that hot box (since I can't help the temp in there). Now they have to stay in the shade with the mist.

did you wet the ground in their run in a good size spot or two, that would help.

Yes, good idea on the electrolytes along with vitamins.

One last thought. If you are putting your birds in the house at night, you may want to set some frozen jugs of water in there. On hot nights I have fans in the coop, but I also nestle one or two jugs in where my birds sleep (they don't roost, they sleep on hay). They like it and will move right next to them.
