In separating a sick chicken, don't forget the grit!

Just wanted to remind everyone when they separate a chicken from the others to not forget to give them grit. Its easy to forget.

Do they need it everyday? If not how long before they do need it? I have a hen recouping from a hawk attach. I have her in a dog crate in the basement.

You never really know how much they have in their gizzard, so its just safe to sprinkle some in their cage to start with. If they stay in the cage for any length of time, I'd just sprinkle some in every week, just to be on the safe side.
