thanks for the opossums.

Once out walking I saw an opossum casualty from traffic. I mean her innards were outards - really gross but, then saw 3 or 4 baby possums . One of them was still alive and for a brief second I thought about taking it home and trying to tube feed it. But the next car took care of that.

How old do you reckon the armadillo pups are? I mean they are fully armored. Do they pop out that way? Gee now I am really getting interested in them. I will have to google them later.

The dermal germ is there, but the dermal plates do not harden until they are older. Think human baby skulls. they have to be flexible enough to grow.
They are soft and leathery and have fuzzy fine hair all over them.
again, like a human baby, but I do not remember it smelling as good as a human baby head.
