theoldchick, I have always believed it's not the camera so much at the person behind it. I'm an Artist, I paint, draw, sculpt ect. I had meet a lady one time who gushed over my work, saying she wished she was as talented as me. All the while she had these gorgeous photographs just laying all over the place. I mean the composition, perspective and lighting was all perfectly balanced. But when I told her, she was as talented as I was already, if not more so, with her Photography. She looked at me and said, "That's not art, that's just a hobby. Painting and drawing! Now that's an art. I'm not talented enough to paint or do any kind of art." So I asked her I could chose and have one of her many photos. She had one I really liked and wanted to paint it. She said, "Sure! Anyone you want." So I did and went home to paint it. It took me weeks but I finally finished it. That's when, I took it back to show her the finished product. She was dumbfounded. She said," Oh gosh! That's so gorgeous! Once again your so talented! I could never do that!" That's when I smiled at her and said, "It was nothing without your photograph. What you captured with your eye and your camera, in just a blink. Took me weeks to render, in paint." That's when she understood, she was an artist of a different form.
Sorry about the long post, just had to share that, for all the photographers out there. I just love looking at your ART!
We had 2 feet in 1993. We usually just get ice storms that we call snow. 2 or 3 inches is a good snow here. This makes the 3ed snow I have seen here my whole life over 5 inches. 2 feet in 1993, 6 inches I think it was last year an 9 inches now.
