in this random rambling thread we post random pictures

That little porcupine has become quite popular with the customers, lol. You can get an idea of how small he is by the drinking straw next to him on the ground. And he's so round! He's only about the size of a volley ball but I'm sure will get quite a bit larger, judging by some of the adults we've seen.

Glad you enjoyed the pictures Nicky!

He seems quite tame. :)

I don't think he's really tame...I just think he knows no one is going to mess with him and goes about his porcupine business.

We sort of held our breath when the 3 young cats at the course checked him out, but even they knew not to get too close. The little guy just sat in place and let them look, then went about his day when they scooted off.

That's pretty cool. I love to see harmony among different species. It always comes down to mutual respect. :D

What is it? Or... Who is it?

It's a porcupine Pasha. I put that word into an online translator and it came back as this: Дикобраз

Does that make sense (I don't know Russian so can't say if it's right or not, lol)?

Nicky didja know Skippy has a dark chocolate peanut butter. I don't care for dark chocolate (it's supposed to be healthy) BUT, sometimes Nutella even seems too sweet for me- gasp!! So now and then I just eat a jar of the chocolate peanut butter.

Some of the stores have dumped that product (Skippys) - I don't know why, I certainly have bought enough over the years. But, noticed it popped up in a hotsy totsy grocery store and NOT at an inflated price. Also saw it in Target for the first time - bought it because it was on sale.

I figure chocolate is from( coca )beans and beans are meatless protein - not vegs, so it's cool with me. I practice my very own logic.

Ah! It was a really stupid question.

The word is correct. I have seen the porcupine in Zoo, but i was very young and don`t remember, it was 30 years ago )) I managed to forget what they look like ))
I know this animal, but see it not often, only sometimes in TV ))

Glad to know the translation was ok. Interesting looking things, aren't they? This year is the first time I've seen one in the wild, before I only saw them like you...in the zoo or on tv.
