With all the solar flares caused by sun's disturbance, lately these have been seen well away from polar regions. They were in my latitude area,,, but with all the Metro light pollution, I could not see .

I miss seeing these, and it's been years. Beautiful birds. Florida is where I used to see them.

They breed and live here in VA year round.

We get these here in AZ We had a family of them nesting somewhere near for a few years and the dad would bring his babies to eat from our parrots food dish and the dogs food dish. I ended up mounting a dish for them on a tree outside our kitchen window. Just loved watching them.

My daughter and granddaughter just got some great photos of this while in Yellowstone a couple of weeks ago.

I lived in VA. Stephen City back in the day when it was hardly populated..and Winchester. We moved from Winchester to Utah.
