Well, you know next time too,13% loss in weight over 26 day period. Comes in handy sometimes.
so wait question?!? If 26 days is the magic day number what day to I lockdown on 24? Day 23? Just wait until there is a pip? The guy I got them from never said how much assistance he gave eggs he incubated inside. So I am preparing for the worse and hopeful for the best.
I am hooding for few to no white calls, anything else but white will be prefect! Whites are cute as ducklings but I like the bigger birds with colors in them.
You can tell me with a straight face this little bugger isn't the cutest thing in the world?

Lockdown for Calls is day 23, Be prepared to assist, Show quality calls usually need to be assisted since they have a very short bill it’s hard for them to pip, Pet quality calls usually have an easier time getting out since they resemble more of a mallard and have a longer bill, although most of the call seller’s I’ve seen on Ebay have pet quality. If the ducklings internally pips after twenty-four hours or so and makes no progress, to be safe make a small safety hole using a drill bit or screw, brad point drill bits work great, the hole should be small or you risk the duckling getting shrink-wrapped and to prevent the duckling from blocking the hole, do it right on top of the air cell, If after 48 hours after making the safety hole and the duckling doesn’t make any progress slowly chip away from where you started the safety hole and hopefully the duckling will be able to make it out on his own, just remember as long as the baby is getting air he will be fine, he has plenty of food/water in his system he can live off of for the next few days.
Best of luck on your hatch! Keep us Posted!
