It has been a very long time since I have been on here. Busy life and all. 2 years ago I became a duck momma to my wonderful black swedish Patch. I felt she was lonely for some of her own kind so last year I bought 3 ducklings plus a friend of mine had a black swedish drake and we mated then together. She played on her eggs like a good momma but our success rate was low. 2 ducklings hatched and that was it. Patch stayed with the other eggs for weeks after. None of them hatched. Of the two that did hatch one passed leaving only her son, who is half perkins (my friends perkin got into the I closure where our swedish where and got in on it to apparently haha). Who has been... doing the deed with our other hens.
This year I want a higher success rate. We have been collecting eggs regularly and keep finding away more then there should be for 4 hens!!! Yesterday I got 12!!!
This year I want to incubate them. Problem I am having is the humidity will not rise above 33% in my incubator. It's kinda old. (Picture of it is included)
I guess I kind need so ideas on raising the humidity.... I have followed the instructions to a T and it has been set up for almost a week I do not know what I'm doing wrong any help would be greatly appreciated also added pictures of ducks because who doesn't like pretty ducks!!! thanks in advance!!
