I put my eggs in the incubation on July 4 2013 and last Monday my electric went out. My kids took it and plugged in at my moms but someone messed with the temp and for about 4-5 hours the temp was at 120 degrees. So my eggs should have hatched out on Thursday but nothing and when I candel them I don't see any movement, but I never did. You can see the chicks in some. My question is are they cooked or should I give them a few more days. This is my first time and I have invested $$ and don't know what I should do. Please someone help. Thanks

120 is really high for fragile chicks give them a few more days though. i went on vacation during the last week of incubation and the people watching them didnt look at the temp and it went to 107 for 2 hours and none hatched. so i doubt at 120 for 4-5 hours they would hatch. sorry.

120*F for a few hours is pretty much guaranteed to have killed them. I'm sorry.

Hello again everyone, This is the first time for myself also that I've tried to incubate eggs and I've done my share of reading and all have said optimate temp should be 99.5.
I have a hoverbator air circulating unit.

My question is no matter what I tried I could not keep the temp at 99.5 The best I could do was to keep in the range of 97 - 101.6 and I'm wondering if I'll be getting any chicks or did I mess them up by not getting it to stay in a tighter range of temps.

I've candeled the eggs mutible times trying to see if anything was going on but most are dark brown sex link eggs.

So I guess I'm asking is that range of fluxuation too much ??

Thanks KWS
