Incubating Muscovy Duck eggs

Well I wish you luck. I'm going to do the same. I just hope one of these little guys make it! Keep me posted and I'll do the same

Definitely will do. Good luck. Hoping maybe for some external pips before I go to bed. It would be nice if they would get things rolling lol.

Update: We checked the eggs again today since today is day 34 so far all are still moving but no external pips yet. Since they internally pipped yesterday we made tiny air holes in each egg so that they could get a bit more air. When we started this we started to hear some cheeping. Hopefully it's a good sign. Only 2 or 3 eggs out of the 11 are not internally pipped yet. All the rest are. We can now clearly see the beaks inside the aircell. Temp has been dialed down to 98.5 and humidity is up to 65ish. Have a few issues with humidity staying stable at 65 so I am checking on it frequently. Hopefully somebody hatches soon because they are killing me lol.

Good luck. One of mine that internally pipped Sunday externally pipped this afternoon. Progress is slow but moving forward so I can't complain lol I think we lost the other two. One egg ive seen no movement for two days and the other I think there's faint movement but it never internally pipped so im not sure what happened. Im checking every few hours praying to see movement.

Oh no my fingers are crossed I hope they are okay. That's why I finally decided to do the air holes in the eggs because we still weren't seeing any progress. Now I am hearing chirping so hopefully they will be excited to get going now that they can see the light outside the egg. Hehe. My fingers are crossed for your little babies.

I have one egg that is really moving around in the incubator. Since I made the air holes it has been moving around and rocking hard in it's egg. Hopefully that means it's getting ready to hatch. I am so bad about being patient.

Woke this morning and candled the eggs again. I had 5 that showed no movement at all. One was internally pipped and the other 4 were not. Two of the not internally pipped were dead in shells that just hadn't been positioned right for internal pipping. The other two that were not internally pipped were still alive but barely. I assisted enough to free up their beak and they are now breathing but seem very weak. The one with the internal pip just needed more air I guess. I peeled back some of the shell in the air cell and he/she is now hollering and breathing well. I could still see veining on the membrane below the beak so I stopped there and wrapped all three that were still alive in paper towels so they could rest and continue getting ready to hatch. The other 6 are still moving actively in their shells so we will wait until tonight to check them again.

Thanks for the information. There is a lot of great stuff in there.

So sorry for the ones you lost. How do you know they're dead. I have one egg that I saw no movement in at all yesterday and It started moving very slowly this morning so I'm hoping it was in that phase where they sleep right before trying to pip. I check the other egg this morning and he's got a pretty good whole going and you can hear him make all kinds of noise and occasionally his little beak peaks through the hole. I'm hoping by this afternoon he'll be completely out.
