Incubating peafowl

I am using a new GQF Sportsman and am new to incubating. Why should pea eggs go on the side? They develop the air cell up at the top just like other eggs. Trying to figure incubating out. What would putting them pointy tip down do? I have four that were at 28 days yesterday that all seamed to have died at 2/3 to full development. Could this be from point down???
I was told that the chicks are way to heavy to be smushed into the tiny pointy end of the egg and it can cause the chicks to actually suffocate from their own body weight. It is best to always lay the larger eggs on their sides to prevent this.

I have all of my eggs now on the side. I hope this helps with my pea hatches.

Now I am paranoid as heck and stressin'... my eggs are in a Dickey, pointy end down, in Turkey egg trays. My first 2 eggs hatched fine, but those Dickey egg turner racks really tilt those eggs good... I am not sure how I could put them in there on their sides. Anybody have any suggestions, or should I just keep doing what I am doin'? I don't expect 100% hatch rate every time, but I don't want to lose any of my babies if I don't have to.

our peas are just turning 2 years and our hen has started laying eggs- 3 so far. We are going to incubate and see what hatches. How many days is incubation and at what day do you remove from turner/stop turning and up the humidity? What should the humidity be to start?

My humidity is running 52% with my water pan full. Is this to high for the pre lockdown incubation? It's in a sportsman. Should I open another vent??

PeepsCA, I am admirer of yours on the Guinea fowl. Didn't know you were into peas, too. That makes me happy because I think you are an awesome person. Anyone that loves the Guineas is A okay in my book! LOL
