Incubating peafowl

I can't incubate mine at all!
I have eggs in 3 different bators, have done all sorts of things to try and get them to hatch but all I can tell is that they are drowning and my humidity is reading 50%. I have had so many folks tell me to up to 70%! I can't get mine that high but there is no way I would even try. Every egg I open has a fully formed chick in it and lots of water. No shrink wrap, no pipping, just a dead chick (I wait 4-5 days longer).
However, my Silkie hens hatched out 2 for me.

But in the rush for everyone to be the mom one got squashed so I am down to one for now.

I have 6 more eggs under broody hens as i am sick and tired of trying to hatch them in my bators. Out of almost 50 eggs set I have one to show for it.
wow! maybe someone else can hop in here... but I have read that humidity will not drown babies unless water vapor is condensing on the outside of the egg... that humidity just controls how much moisture is lost during the incubation process.... so low humidity means a smaller chick sometimes to weak to hatch and high humidity means a big fat chick to large to zip after piping...

The pea breeder I got my hicks from just up ed his humidity from 56% to 62% and got almost a 20% increase in hatch rate...and he hatched hundreds at a time... maybe the babies are dieing of bacteria moving through the shell and killing the baby and preventing the absorption of all the liquid so it looks like they are drowning....

in my chickens I do dry hatches, and if I have a dirty egg or bad egg in the bunch.... a few chicks will do this... look to be fully formed when I break open the egg but be full of water... but I know they did not drowned as all other chicks would hatch normal

I never change the humidity in my bators. It may drop in my Sportsman a bit but I add more water almost every day. It sits around 50%. I can't really change it in the Sportsman unless i take out sponges, I suppose.

In any case, I took 19 eggs to my friends today. They have this new super sonic high tech incubator but the dear wife put the kabashe on him hatching so many turkeys and Guineas this year so I have been letting them hatch out some of my extra Cochin eggs to allow him to feel he got his moneys worth on that high priced fancy piece of machinery. So far the incubator has been hatching beautifully so we are trying this with eggs from my Bronze pen, IB BS WE pen, one of the Silver Pied pens, my Purple pen and a lot of IB eggs.
I also have more eggs under chickens so hopefully I will get to raise some pea babies this year.

I will let you all know how this hatch goes in 28 days.

If they are in lock down then they should be on their sides. All you can do is wait for them to pip if they are fertile. You may also try to candle them to see how far they are. If due to hatch then the egg will be completely black and the air sac end will be clear.

I think after 2 weeks I finally have my home computer fixed and can upload some pics later today.I've just been lurking here more-less from my computer at work but I need to post pics of the new peas and the number of eggs Pea Palace has under shake and bake mode. My homemade incubator will be done by tomorrow nite,as the next batch of eggs will need a home Monday or Tuesday nite. I think at this point in time my hens are ending their first clutch as some colors quit laying this week. I truly miss my Brinsea but it went to a great home at Bigcreekpoultry and although my Humidaire is older it's holding capacity is almost triple the Brinseas and we are utilizing every square inch. I'm pretty sure I have close to 200 eggs in the Humidaire and my new homemade one will hold another 100,,now my wine cooler capacity is not big enough used to keep eggs cool until they go into the bator.
