Incubating peafowl

Yes, the hens are getting perturbed at me for checking on the progress. Can't help it!

I have 4 broody hens in the nest with several eggs left, I am not worried about them getting off the nest as much as them squashing another one. They did that last time with one and killed it flat.

Since I am down to just one pea egg due to hatch within the next day or two, I have taken in out of the little giant and gave it to one of my best silkies. I saw movement in it yesterday but I looked again today before giving it to my silkie and it didn't move but I saw whats left of the red veins. My hatch rate in the LG has been low but my silkies almost always have 100%.

Gotta be careful when putting an almost ready egg to hatch under a hen , if she has only been sitting a little bit she may keep turning the egg when the egg needs to be still so baby can get into position, also the hen may think it is an intruder and peck it to death, I am just sayen this because I have seen it happen when I placed unhatch guinea eggs from a nest left behind after the guineas hatched most of them, it wasn't pretty.

Can't wait to see the new baby

The Bronze baby that hatched out yesterday under the Silkie hens.....

There is a pipped egg that has not changed since last night. Chick is peeping but I will wait a while before I help it any.

Im so eggcited I have 6 peaeggs in the bator and I have been so busy moving that I haven't gathered eggs and guess who is sitting her own eggs that's right she is sitting on 4 I will give her 3 or 4 days to make sure since this is her first time ever sitting or laying for that matter but if she stays on them then I want to know should I pull eggs out of bator and slip them under her or would the staggered hatches make her stop sitting the new ones?

Great news!!!!!! Candled all my baby pea eggs n my muscovey eggs all were shipped but 1 pea,all are growing,n got to c them move for the 1st time,i LOVE IT!Looks like I have finally learned how to incubate..only after 3 tries...lol the 1 pea is from my own peacocks that matured this year. And I got home this morning to find a new baby girl pygmy marked soo cool.
