Incubating Peafowls-LOCKDOWN TODAY!

The Guineas are impatient. They were not supposed to hatch until Friday. One has already hatched. Today. TUESDAY! I guess I will have to take it out as the Peas and Turkeys aren't due to hatch till Friday either. Anyone ever have this?

last week my lockdown was guinea eggs & cochin eggs.. two of my guinea eggs were early I had to take them all off the turning tray fast.... I am not sure all that went wrong but 7 guineas hatched perfectly, one of my Cochins was early & I think hurt alittle from the guineas hyperness & running over the lil one, well I had to get the guineas out. & still had Cochins that needed to hatch, some how I lost some Cochins I don't know if it's because I had to open it or the hyper guinea keets running and moving around the eggs all over

I do know I won't do guinea eggs with chicken eggs again that was to hectic. I still have my lil bantam Cochins seperate from the guinea keets because they run all over & on top of the lil banties

I wish I had advice but hopefully someone will have advice for us...
I do like having the guineas though!

Take care Jen

I've had guineas pipping the last 2 batches as I was taking them off of the turner- I find they tend to hatch starting d25 and end sometime around d28. I was waiting to take them off the turner in the evening, but heard cheeping around dinner time- talk about slight panic with visions of a keet slowly getting squeezed in the automatic turner! I like to leave them in so they stimulate the other eggs (within reason), but I've also had chicks roll pipped eggs and presumable smother them too. Never quite sure what the right thing to do is... Good luck!

Morning Annie
I was thinking.... maybe put the eggs in egg cartons to hatch so the other lil ones won't run over them and make them
roll... I did this before & liked it, just wish I did it last time but it all happened so fast... just as guineas are quick to go

or I was thinking of putting in a divider keeping guineas on one side...
I like the liner idea... Thanx

Good luck

OK - I leave for work at 6am so I didn't get to read your post. Took them out this morning. They are crazy little birds! Hopefully, all will work out. I can't see any visible pips on any of the other eggs, did not want to keep the bator open so I grabbed them and shut it quick. Humidity is still fine so...

yes those Guineas are crazy, they sound like alittle stampede with all the running back & forth... they were to
wild for my lil banty chicks
